The CALCIVIS® imaging system uses bioluminescence to obtain visual evidence of active demineralisation on the surfaces of the teeth.
It applies a luminescent photoprotein that produces a light signal when free calcium ions are detected. These light signals are then captured by an integrated sensor and glowing images of ‘hot spots’ or problem areas are displayed at the chair side.
CALCIVIS® supports the minimally-invasive approach by enabling dental practitioners and patients to see the very early signs of tooth decay and dental erosion. Preventive measures can be put in place at the earliest, most reversible stages, which could save patients from complex or costly dental treatments in the future.
What could be better than that?
